Mike Umphres is a Certified Compensation Professional with WorldatWork (formerly known as the American Compensation Association) and was active in the Middle Tennessee Compensation Association (MTCA). Over the past 30 years Mike has worked for major corporations including Rust-Oleum, Baxter Healthcare, CitiBank, and Nortel Networks. In 1994, Mike founded Compensation Advantage. As the firm's Principal, he has been supporting corporations as they work to improve the effectiveness of their employee compensation programs.
Although a majority of Mike's experience is based in North America, he has been involved in projects in Central and South America, England, Southeast Asia, and Saudi Arabia.
Since 1999, Mike has been the Project Lead for the Nashville Area total compensation Survey. He has served as a Board Director with Brentwood Band Boosters, First Steps, Inc., and is an active community volunteer with numerous agencies including the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, Williamson County United Way, and the Cumberland Valley Girl Scout Council.
